Placenta Encapsulation & Keepsakes

Your Incredible Placenta

Placenta encapsulation in Providence RI

The placenta is a remarkable organ your body grows to sustain life. It nourishes, protects, and connects you and your baby throughout pregnancy.

Many families choose to honor that role through placenta encapsulation and keepsakes.

Our placenta encapsulation and tincturing methods are performed according to strict standards from one of the most comprehensive placenta certification programs available to ensure you receive a healthy, quality product. We individually process your placenta in our dedicated placenta space in adherence to certification standards to avoid risk of cross-contamination. If preferred, your placenta can be processed in your home by our certified placenta specialist.  Please keep in mind that your home will be heated up for a minimum of 10 hours while the placenta is dehydrated in your oven, and the aroma of cooking placenta can be a bit strong.  95% of clients prefer to have their placenta processed and delivered. We are pleased to offer the choice of either processing technique.

In addition to following OSHA standards regarding biohazard and blood-borne pathogens, we hold the thought that the body that created this placenta and life deserves honor and reverence and conduct our processing accordingly.  We are deeply aware of the personal and sacred task we are undertaking. Thank you for your trust.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Placenta Preparation (capsules)

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), placenta is considered a powerful and sacred medicine, full of life force. Many practitioners who have studied Traditional Chinese Medicine believe the use of placenta during the postpartum course aids in recovery from childbirth.

While research on placenta consumption is limited, many families report benefits such as improved energy and mood support.

The placenta is steamed with warming ingredients (lemon, ginger, jalapeño), dehydrated at 170+ degrees for 10 hours for microbial hygiene, finely ground, and placed in vegetarian capsules.

Recommended use is 2-3 capsules, 2-3 times per day or as needed. Wait until at least the third day after birth to start the capsules.  Do not take if you have a fever or inflammation.  Capsules can be saved in the freezer for later use.

Placenta Print & Umbilical Keepsake

The tether and connection that sustained your child can be shaped and dried as a memento of birth. The length of the cord will determine the end design, but we've included some ideas to spur creativity.  We've had names, zodiac signs, symbols (heart, star, crescent, spiral). We'll do our best to create what you want.

Many families find this to be a meaningful way to honor the connection that sustained their baby in utero.

Your placenta print is created with food grade inks on 11x14 acid-free watercolor paper.  You choose the colors used.

Katherine

I realized last-minute that I wanted to try placenta encapsulation. My doula reached out to Lorie and she drove an hour to the hospital, picked up my placenta, and had it ready for me when I got home two days later.  It was so easy, and the packaging and directions were beautiful.  Highly recommended!
