What Really Matters

Updated: Sep 6, 2025

I'm realizing more and more that the things that I worry about, or feel like I need to get perfect seem important, until I ask myself "why am I doing this?" When I am deciding where my energy needs to go, staying in alignment with my core is more important than making sure I look good to others.

For instance....on social media, people's lives often look quite polished and perfect. The pressure to adhere to that kind of a standard and/or compare my somewhat tarnished, imperfect life to the carefully curated photos that people share is dangerous. I can choose to try to capture the perfect view of my yard with me all fancied up....or I can just wing it and know that what I'm sharing is what's vital to me.
